What’s happening? Change is.

I have not been this excited in a long time. You know what’s caused this sudden, unanticipated precipitation of passion?

Change.

Some people hate it. Some people have an extreme dislike of it. Some even loathe it.

And yet, the prospect of simple, profound change in my church and the extraordinary opportunity to be one who effects said change has me, in a word, over the moon. Three words, I know. That’s how excited I am.

But, lest this mystifying giddiness causes me to make a mess, I will settle myself.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, I simply find that this fact is true—I have never experienced the desire to remain still while others progressed without me. I enjoy the prospect of being part of a change, of trailblazing, of making my own opportunities—having ideas that enable others to lead a better, more effective life. I cannot identify with a dislike of change.1

The incredible thing is being part of a team of people who are on the same page, who share the same vision, and who have the skills, the means (or at least the nouse to “wing it” when the former two are lacking) and the authority to effect change.

Here’s to a bright future. One that’s taken the great things of today, wiped off the cruft2 of the past, and implanted the fresh and new—resulting in an exciting tomorrow.

  1. That is not to say that I embrace change for the sake of it—senseless change drives me up the wall. []
